When I was promoting the launches, most of the sales were made in the first few days, even when I kept promoting and getting signups for over 2 weeks.
I always like promoting any new product or website that launches very heavily in the first few days. The reason is that when something is new, the conversion rates are very high. No one belongs to the site yet, so getting signups is easy.
The analogy I use for this is the idea of the "low hanging fruit". The first people to pick apples from the tree have the easiest job, because they can pick the apples from the low branches without having to use a ladder. Once the low hanging fruit are gone, then each apple takes more effort to pick.
A website launch is the same thing. The first signups are easy to get and don't take much effort. Once more and more people have joined the site, then it is harder and harder to find a new signup that hasn't already joined or heard about it. It takes more traffic to get every signup.
The interesting lesson that I learned is that the low hanging fruit are also the sweetest. The first people to join are much more likely to upgrade and earn you a commission than people who join a week later.
The reason for this is that the most serious people about building their businesses are the ones who are most likely to spend money. The serious people are working every day on their businesses, so when something new comes along, they hear about it right away. They don't join two weeks after something launched. They join in the first few days or the first week. They decide if they are
going to upgrade, and then make the purchase.
So the earlier signups are easier, but also more profitable. This is why you can't delay when promoting launches. You need to be ready and focused to promote right away to grab all the low hanging... tasty… fruit!
