When it comes to making sales you need to sell people what they WANT, not what they need.
Here's why.
Many marketers (including me) preach the "Build Your List" strategy.
And everyone who really wants to earn reliable income NEEDS to build an email list and make their audience Know, Like, and Trust them. But most people don't WANT to work on it.
Why? The answer is simple: Building their audiences is not a priority for them right now.
They are happy with their current activities. They promote products and sites to cold traffic and get occasional sales. Probably they are focusing on winning referral contests, and this can be a good source of income. I myself earned thousands by winning contests on sites like Free Advertising For You, Herculist Plus, Viral Commissions, etc.
Of course, they would like to make more money but they don't believe in list building strategy.
Or they don't want to put in a lot of work that building your list requires.
Or they are busy promoting another contest and don't have time to switch right now.
Anyway, building their list is not the problem that makes them get up at night.
So even though autoresponder like AWeber is a good offer to those people... It's not what they WANT.
Even seasoned marketers sometimes fall into the trap of selling people what they need.
If you want to achieve the success you have to start with selling people something that they want. And if you care about your audience...
Then later you can GIVE them what they need.
So before you sell something, ask yourself: "What my prospect really WANTS?". That question will earn a fortune for you.
