Today, I wanted to tell you about the concept of "low hanging fruit" in marketing.
When you promote something new, there are lots of people that have never seen it before and want to get it. This first group of people are easy to convert. They are the "low hanging fruit".
It is just like in an apple orchard. The easiest to pick apples are the ones on the branches you can reach while standing on the ground. However, once you have picked all the apples that you can reach without a ladder, you have a decision to make. Do you get a ladder or find a new orchard?
This is the same with your marketing. Once you have collected all the "easy to get" signups, you can then decide if you are going to keep marketing using the same sources and work harder to get the conversions, or go find another traffic source where there are more low-hanging fruit.
Eventually, you will reach a point where even the tallest ladders will not let you reach the fruit, or in the case of your marketing, no amount of educating and selling will convince the people remaining to buy your product. At that point, you have to switch products or switch traffic sources.
The problem with many people who market online is that they keep trying to get taller and taller ladders to get results in their programs. Maybe, if you are promoting an opportunity that has been marketed to this source for a couple of years of more, you need to find a new product.
