It is finally 2021! A new year always is exciting with all the new possibilities and opportunities that it brings. The clock is reset and you have 365 days to make progress.
However, it is unfortunate, but most people will end the year of 2021 not having made a big difference in their future.
If you want to have success this year, then you need to set your goals right and then take the action to make them a reality.
Here is my advice on setting goals for 2021:
1. Don't Set Too Many Goals
One of the reason that so many people fail is that they try to accomplish too much. They want to earn 6 figures, lose 50 pounds, find the love of their life, buy a new car, move into a new house, and finally achieve peace of mind ... before December 31st.
No one can accomplish all of that in such a short time. You can't fix everything in 1 year.
Instead pick the three goals that can actually be accomplished in 12 months that will make the biggest difference in your happiness.
Maybe you want to make $5000 from your online business, you want to lose 10 pounds, and you want to get a new car.
Those are reasonable goals that you can accomplish. If you try to do too many things, none of them get enough effort to be successful.
2. Set a Weekly Action Plan to Accomplish Them
Take your 3 goals and break each one down into weekly actions that you can take to accomplish them. What do you need to do consistently to make the goal a reality by the end of the year?
If you want to lose weight, then set a weekly goal to exercise for at least 30 minutes for 3 days this week. Make the first week's goals easy to accomplish and increase the goals as the year goes along. Don't set yourself up for failure.
3. Get Someone to Hold You Accountable
It's easy to quit on your goals when you are the only one who knows about them. In this case, the only person who knows you failed is yourself.
We are more likely to carry through with goals if we feel like we are letting someone else down if you don't take action. Get a workout buddy to walk with 3 times a week. If they are coming to the house to pick you up, you probably won't cancel as often.
I suggest that one of your goals this year should be to build a list of at least 1,000 people and email them consistently at least 3 times per week. Doing this consistently last year transformed my entire business.
