On Wednesday, I talked about how to get a truly compelling offer to build your email list. If you missed the last email, your can still read it by clicking here.
You can have a lead capture page, but you need to get people to actually go to your page in order to subscribe to your list. You need High-Quality Traffic!
Traffic is just visitors to your pages. More traffic is more attention on your offers and, hopefully, more subscribers.
It's not enough to just have lots of visitors though. You need visitors to actually pay attention to the page and take action. You want them to actually read the content, watch the videos, and fill in the subscription form to join your list. We call that a conversion.
Not all traffic converts well.
A lot of beginners are just focused on traffic quantity, not traffic quality. This is a mistake. 10,000 visitors multiplied by zero conversion rate, still equals zero signups. Visitors who are not paying attention are just a waste of time and resources.
You need to watch out for people who will sell fake traffic which is not even real people visiting your site. It is just bots clicking the links with no humans watching. If you track your traffic, then you can spot these bad traffic sources quickly.
You should focus on quality traffic from interested visitors who are paying attention.
The best way to determine if a traffic source is delivering quality traffic is to actually test it. Get a small amount of traffic and send it to your page. Track the results and see how many signups you get from it.
I track all my traffic sources and analyze the results every week. I look at which lead capture pages are converting the best and which traffic sources are delivering signups. I can then use that information to inform my decisions for the actions I will take next week.
By doing this over and over again, I have reached the point where I don't waste any time on traffic sources that are not working. By focusing on what works, I can now add close to 100 new subscribers every week from free traffic.
