I wrote to you on Monday about how you need to use the extra time you have been given by the corona virus quarantine to spend more time on your online business. If you missed the email, you can still read it by clicking here.
However, just because you spend more time, you may not get more done. It's human nature.
There is a saying that states "work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion". In fact, it is a law called Parkinson's Law.
What that means is that tasks only get done when there is a deadline. If you only have 1 hour to complete a task, then it will take 1 hour. However, if you give yourself 3 hours to complete the same task, then it will take 3 hours.
Deadlines force results.
Now that you have more time available to work, it will only be effective if you do not let Parkinson's Law eat up all that extra time.
The best way to do that is to assign deadlines yourself to each task you need to do. If you are normally done your email in one hour, then don't let it take 3 hours instead. Schedule your time into blocks and give yourself a one hour block to do your email. If it isn't done at the end of the hour, stop and switch to the next task anyway.
Giving yourself mini deadlines will make your work more efficient and you will get more done.
