It is always good to learn from experience. Especially if that is from someone else's mistakes, and not your own. Today, you get to learn from mine.
In my last email, I told you about why it is so important to promote quickly after a launch because the low hanging fruit are also the tastiest. For the full email and explanation of what I mean by the that, you can click here.
However, I failed at that during the last launch I promoted.
For the launch at the end of January of Your Success Mailer, I did not get nearly as many signups as I normally do, and I made a lot less in commissions. The overall launch went very well, getting almost 2,500 new members in just 3 weeks ... but I failed.
As I told you at the time, I was distracted because I was working on finishing my requirements for my college degree. I wasn't emailing my list regularly, and I wasn't generating as much cold traffic.
When the launch happened, I only sent one email on launch day ... and never mentioned it again during the launch week. That one email did very well, getting me over 30 signups, but for the entire launch, I just didn't do enough.
Once I returned from finishing my degree, I promoted the launch more and sent more emails, but it was too late. All the low hanging fruit were definitely picked by other marketers.
Lesson learned. I will be more careful to make sure I don't miss out on opportunities like that in the future.
Please make sure that you learn from this as well. When you hear about a new compelling launch or product, and you have the chance to promote it early, then just do it!
