It has been a very busy last 6 months. I have been working hard to build my subscriber list in AWeber and reach more people with my message. I have been participating in numerous of launches winning a lot of contests.
Maybe I need a bit of a break.
Working in your own business is always done in cycles. The overall journey to create a successful business is a marathon, not a sprint. You have to keep moving towards the finish line for a long period of time.
That analogy of marathon versus sprint is a good one to describe the entire journey, but not 100% accurate.
The journey of an online entrepreneur is more like a series of sprints. You do each sprint one after the other, with a short period of jogging in between. You are always moving forward, just sometimes faster than others.
The last 6 months have definitely been sprinting for me. That is why I have been happy to slow down the promotions a little last week and get a chance to write you some emails like this.
That doesn't mean that I am not working on list building. There are some things that need work everyday no matter what.
The important thing about this strategy of "Sprint then Regroup" is that you are choosing the right goals to sprint towards. You can't make fast progress unless you are heading in the right direction.
It is good to plan your goals in 90 Day Sprints (or in 90x2 like I did). What is the big goal you are going to try to accomplish in the next 90 days?
If you are just starting out, then a good 90 Day Sprint goal would be to setup a lead capture process and add 100 subscribers to your list. If you are more advanced, it might be to create and sell your first product.
After that 90 Day Sprint is complete, choose a new goal for the next one.
Let me know if you want help determining what sprint goals are appropriate for your stage in the journey. I am here for you.
