In my last email, I talked about focusing on adding value for the long-term subscribers to your email list, rather than just sending promotions to catch the new subscribers. If you missed the email, you can still read it by clicking here.
Another common question that beginning email marketers ask is about how often they should email their list. They are worried about sending too many emails. This is the opposite of what most marketers should be worried about.
Most email marketers don't send too many emails. In fact, they don't send enough.
Your biggest problem with your email list, if you are providing value in your emails, is trying to get them to pay attention. One way to get more attention is to email more frequently.
The more emails you send, the more likely your audience will notice one of them. Their email inboxes are full of people trying to get their attention. If you are doing well, you might get 10% of your audience to open your message. That means that 90% missed it.
If you email everyday and each day you are reaching 10% of your audience with every email, then over the run of a week, you will be noticed by a much larger percentage of your audience. Attention is the name of the game.
The key to making this work is to ensure that your emails are valued by the subscriber. It need to leave them motivated, educated, or entertained. Preferably, a little bit of all three.
If you have a valuable message, then you can email every day!
