Tomorrow is the final day of 2018. Time flies by so quickly.
2018 has been a transformational year for my online business. At the beginning of the year, I was struggling to get emails sent out to my list on a regular basis and get consistent results in building my list.
Fast forward to this month, where I am sending emails on a daily basis and am routinely adding 100 new subscribers and more each week. That is a dramatic improvement.
That changes has come about because of the lessons I learned this year about what truly gets great results. I want to pass those lessons along to you in this email.
1. You Need a System
Most online marketers are jumping around constantly, unable to focus on doing one thing for very long. They don't have a system or a strategy, so their actions each day are determined by whatever is in their inbox or that they "feel like" working on today.
If you want success, you need to stick to the most important tasks to accomplish each day and avoid getting distracted. I have been able to more than triple the amount of traffic that I can send to my lead capture pages by staying focused on traffic generation. Triple the traffic has meant triple the conversions.
2. You Have to Be Consistent
A system only works if someone follows it and takes action consistently every day. If there are frequent breaks where the system isn't followed, then no progress is made.
I have been working every day since early in the year and it has paid off. My list has grown by thousands and the number of clicks on my emails keep going up.
3. You have to Pay Attention to the Numbers
This year has been focused on the 80/20 rule, as I have written about in the past. 80% of your signups will come from 20% of your traffic sources. You need to get more traffic from those that convert and drop those that are under-performers.
You cannot make these decisions unless you have the tracking and numbers to provide the information you need. You need to know the source of every visitor and every signup. You also need to know which things you are promoting are more efficient at getting signups.
If you collect the information, but don't ever analyze it and change your daily actions, then it is useless. Each week, I figure out what the conversion rate is on every lead capture page and program I promoted that week and on every traffic source. I compare it to the past numbers so I can see what is working.
4. You Have to Be Constantly Trying New Things
We are working in the online marketing niche, and it is constantly changing. You need to focus most of your energy on what is working for you today, but you also have to spend some time to try new things. You want to be prepared for when things change and your current methods no longer work.
I hope that you can learn from the my lessons this year to help you accomplish more in 2019.
Let me know if you want help building your list. I am here for you.
