I sometimes have phone calls or video conferences with people from my audience that are looking for help with building the list or their business. It is always a good thing to get to speak to people in person and help them sort out their issues.
One thing that I hear when I speak with people is that some people get discouraged because they don't feel like they are adding enough subscribers to their list each week. They see how many people has subscribed to my list, and they get discouraged or think that they are doing something wrong.
I had a call like that this week, and I let the person know that 18 months ago, I felt exactly the same way. I was unhappy with my results and felt like I was doing it wrong. That is why I share everything I do to get results with you ... to help you get better over time.
It does take some time though to get all the pieces in place. Don't be discouraged. Just realize that it takes time and consistent effort. Keep with it.
Last summer, I shared some of my "secrets" to getting more traffic and signups. Since then, there are many new subscribers on my list, and I have continued to learn how to make them even better, so over the next few emails, I will share my updated list with you.
The first "secret" to generating high amounts of traffic from safelists and solo ads is to be consistent. I work everyday ... no matter what.
This usually means that you have to make sure that your business is truly as high a priority as you like to tell people that it is. Your actions speak louder than words. If you find the time to do the work, then it is truly important. If you give in to excuses and other "more important" tasks, then that will reflect in the results you get.
If you are committed to building an email list, then you should be able to generate at least 30 new subscribers each week from free traffic. That is assuming that you are spending about 3 hours each day, using the best converting sites and promoting a lead capture page that converts at around 100 visitors per signup.
Don't get distracted by "shiny objects" or by trying to find a shortcut to making money. You need to put in the work first to build an audience and all of those distractions cause you to build your list more slowly.
