In the last email, I talked about using other people's content in your indoctrination sequence of emails to new subscribers. If you missed it, you can still read it by clicking here.
Another thing you can devote an email to in your indoctrination sequence is to try to get your audience to connect with you on other platforms, like social media.
You want to have as many channels to communicate with your subscribers as possible.
Maybe they missed your email, but they saw your post on Facebook. Whichever way they get the information is not as important as the fact that they got it.
The other thing you accomplish by asking your new subscribers to follow you on social media or YouTube (if you create videos) is that you show them that you are marketing in a variety of ways. This increases authority because it tells them that you know what you are doing.
In an ideal world, you want to achieve "omnipresence" which is the effect that your customer feels like they are seeing you everywhere they go. They are on Facebook and they see you. They are in their email inbox and they see you. They log into YouTube and they see you. Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.
So add an email to your indoctrination sequence where you simply tell them that you would love to connect with them on social media and invite them to links for all the platforms you regularly use. Make sure that you optimize your pages on those platforms so that when they visit your profile or content page, they will be impressed.
