In the last email, I talked about creating an introductory email to start your indoctrination sequence of emails to new subscribers. If you missed it, you can still read it by clicking here.
In your indoctrination sequence of emails, you are trying to share your best information and knowledge to show your new subscriber that you want to be helpful to them and that you are an authority on the subject who should be listened to.
If you have a blog or online content where you are posting information about the niche, then your second email could be a link to the most useful article on your blog.
However, what do you do if you don't have a website or blog yet?
You can still build trust and authority by linking to other people's blogs and content. Something along the lines of ...
"I found a great article that I think you will find very useful. Here is the link below:"
In some ways, sharing content from someone else's site can actually build trust faster than sharing content from your own site.
Why?
Simply because you are doing the opposite of what they expect. When you share content from your own site, they may see it as you trying to generate traffic to your site. You shared the content to help yourself, not them.
When you share content from someone else's site, with no obvious self-interest on your part, it says to them that you are more interested in them being successful than simply doing what benefits yourself.
It's a win - win.
One note about sharing other people's content with your list. Try to share information from corporate sites, not personal blogs. You don't want to have to compete for attention with the guru whose site you recommended. Business sites like Entrepreneur magazine, Success magazine, etc have great content but less personal branding.
