In the last email, I talked about the importance of
seeing yourself as an "online guide" to help your prospects on their journey. If you missed it, you can still read it by clicking here.
Everyone understands that building trust is essential to long-term relationships
with your prospects, but we also need to think about how we can balance that with earning an income in the shorter term.
Luckily, there is a way you can speed up the trust building process. Share your best knowledge and help them intensively right away.
When someone first subscribes
to your list, they are paying attention and are most likely to read your emails. After a week or two, many will have wandered off. Taking advantage of the first week is critical.
The best way to do this is with an "indoctrination sequence" of emails that all new subscribers get right after joining you list.
Even if you normally only email your list 3 times a week, during the first week after they join, send them emails everyday. Not sales emails. Instead introduce yourself and share the best tips, tactics, and strategies you have.
Literally give them your best stuff without asking them to join
anything.
This creates a lasting first impression that you are interested more in their success than in selling them products. You come across as a guide, not a sales person.
