If you have been reading my emails for a while, then you know I am a big fan of Pareto's Principle, also known as the 80/20 rule. It states that 80% of the benefit will come from 20% of the actions.
That definitely applies to the traffic you are generating for your website or lead capture page.
20% of your traffic sources will generate 80% of your
results.
Notice that I said results, not just traffic.
Ultimately we care about the results that
the traffic brings, not the amount of traffic itself. It doesn't matter if you get 10,000 visitors a day to your site, if no visitors signup or join your list.
That is why the 80/20 rule is so important. You have to be tracking your traffic and knowing which sites are sending traffic that converts.
Conversions is the measurement that we care about.
I mostly build my list by promoting the lead capture pages in Your Viral List and the
launches in the Your Viral Network. Luckily, they track all the traffic, so I can see in the member's area which sites are working.
If you have your own lead capture pages or
promote another program, then you need to set up a way to track traffic and conversions.
It is all about traffic and conversions!
