Did you read my last email about getting more done with less? If you missed it, you can still read it by clicking here.
Another great way to multiply your productivity is through the concept of "block time".
Schedule your day on a calendar, with a time block for everything you need to accomplish. In time management, they often call this "Time Activating" your important tasks.
If you need to write a new email to your list
today, rather than just putting it on a to do list and hoping that you get to it, schedule an appointment with yourself to get it done. Pick a time in the day and put it on the calendar. Estimate how much time it will take and mark it out on your schedule. From 6 to 7 PM today you are going to write that email. During that time, you can do nothing else.
Also set appointments for regular daily tasks in running your business, or personal life, like responding to emails or posting on social media. If you have a set time for email each day, then you can turn it off for the rest of the day and focus on other things.
Time blocking also helps you to keep tasks down to the time they deserve. If you have a half hour scheduled for Facebook, then you will help avoid losing 3 hours browsing your news feed and then wondering where the time went.
What are the tasks you need to get done today? Set an
appointment right now and stick to it!
