When people subscribe to your list, it's because they agreed to exchange their email address for something they are interested in. You build your list one person at a time, and this is the
most important task in your online business.
You need to invest both time and money to build it. You have to create (or find) an offer, generate traffic, and pay fees for using marketing tools like autoresponder, among others. Add to that the cost of the internet, electricity, and the
necessity of having PC or laptop.
If you calculate everything you'll find you are spending more money on list building than you expected. There is nothing free, even in the free traffic niche.
Things get worse when, in just a few weeks or days, those hard-earned subscribers stop reading your messages, unsubscribe, or quit business at all.
If done wrong, list building can turn into a rat race. You might end
up decreasing your list instead of growing it, and losing more money than you earn.
To avoid this, you need to do one thing:
Determine Your Subscriber Lifetime Value (SLV)
SLV is the average amount of money each subscriber spends on your products or affiliate products you recommend over the time of being subscribed to your list.
Knowing this number allows you to easily determine how much you can spend to acquire a new subscriber and still be in profit.

All you need is an autoresponder, an offer plus high converting traffic.
For an autoresponder, you can use AWeber, which is free for lists with fewer than 500 subscribers.
