Gmail and Yahoo Mail have announced big changes in email marketing.
Starting February 1st, 2024, they require those who email their lists to authenticate outgoing email, to avoid sending spam, and to make it easy for recipients to unsubscribe.
What does this mean for you?
First of all, if you are a list builder then...
You Are In Danger!
You need to prepare for the new rules.
Urgently.
Otherwise you can be blacklisted by those giants, and lose the ability to communicate with your subscribers through email.
Also, if you are not building your list, and just a safelist user then expect that some of your sites may start deliver
less traffic or stop working at all.
Some people will treat this information as bad news.
Frankly, that was my first feeling.
Because I remember how back in 2018 I got into the spam list. I was fighting to get off the list for three months until I finally switched my Autoresponder to AWeber (however, I'm glad I went through this, and received experience).
Now, I see the news with big enthusiasm.
This will clean so many inboxes that are cluttered with
spam.
This will block a lot of spammers and scammers around the world.
This will skyrocket the quality of newsletters, and bring you more benefits for reading them.
As a safelist user you'll get traffic from best of the best sites that meet new requirements. Low converting sites with dead email lists will go to the oblivion, which is the only right place for them.
In a few days email marketing will never be the
same.
Way to go Google!
So, how you should prepare for the new reality?
As a list builder:
As a safelist user:
Focus on sites that keep their membership fresh and clean. Sites that reguraly and mercilessly delete inactive accounts, so you only send your ads to interested members.
Sites like a new launch from the wizard I wrote above that is Traffic Max Mailer. No doubt this site will meet all the new requirements and stay working after February 1st.
