Some people can only dream of that number.
Others might say it is a very small list.
A micro list.
You might wonder how I have only 2,000 subscribers when I should have had at least 3,600 every year.
Let me
explain.
Notice, I said 2,000 active members. These are only members who joined the list and opened any email in the last 90 days. Everyone else is constantly being deleted as inactive.
This process is called "cleaning the list" and is necessary for your email marketing.
If you keep dormant subscribers, who never open your emails, then you are at a risk of getting into promotional folder.
There they get even fewer opens.
And you are getting into a downward spiral that eventually can lead your emails into the spam folder.
Sending your message to 10,000 subscribers who only open 50 emails and click 5 times is pointless and costly. You need higher open and click rates to make your list responsive and profitable.
To achieve that, you need to clean your list regularly. Mercilessly delete all members who joined in the last 90 days and never opened any email.
With
AWeber which is the best professional autoresponder, you can do it very easily. It has a tool that filters your subscribers by engagement:
