There have been a lot of milestones in my business. I remember that feeling of fulfillment when my list grew up to the first 1,000 email subscribers.
A more powerful feeling was when I realized that people in my audience see me as an authority in building lists. These people trust me and follow my advice.

It is my 900th email to you!
In the beginning, I was struggling to get emails sent out to my list on a regular basis. I depended on my first coach who was editing and, often, writing emails for me.
My business is my list and it's no fun at all to let somebody run it for you.
The two biggest fears were:
- English is not my first language, and...
- I don't know what to write
Over time a dramatic improvement happened, and these fears no longer exist. However, I spent about 5 years, and thousands of dollars on coaching, courses, and other stuff to get to that point.
Probably, you struggle with the same obstacles, but you have to eliminate them to achieve success. And you CAN do it.
The best part is you don't need to spend so much effort on that. Here's why.
Email marketing gives you the ability to analyze the numbers from your campaigns. You can see how your audience reacted to each of your messages. Who opened, who clicked. Who unsubscribed.
If you want more people to read your emails you need to come up with a good headline. The headline your audience can't ignore.
If you know copywriting and your readers, their problems and goals, then it's ten times easier to write a good headline and a copy. However, even the best ideas need testing.
Many times I thought my headline is good enough and my copy is irresistible. I eagerly was pushing that send button just to see less than mediocre results.
And vice versa. Some emails that seemed boring had the most opens and clicks.
Gary Halbert said that if you want success you need to become "a Student of Markets". Listen to what the market says, and take lessons. So numbers should become your best friends.
That's why I created a spreadsheet where I put all the info about every email sent: Date, the headline, open rates, click rates, and so on. Sometimes, I put notes to quickly understand why the email gets such numbers.
There is full info about 622 original messages I sent to my list so far. That includes a link to the email copy. The difference between 900 and 622 is because some emails were re-sent with different subject lines.
Today, the 623rd row will be added. And it will be the info about the email you are reading now.
Each column has a filter to sort data by different metrics. So it's easy to find the headline with the most opens, even though the email was sent 2 years ago.
This spreadsheet reveals what headlines are appealing most to safelist members. What copy gets them to take action. Not a guess, not a feeling but pure knowledge of what exactly is in their mind.
This is something no one did before because it's like sharing your fishing spots.
