My advice is to not reinvent the wheel.
What you want to promote is a superior version of a product that is already selling well in your market... with superior advertising.
Even if you cannot find or create a superior version of a product, you can still look at what other people are selling, and come up with better marketing and promotions.
If you see a successful person promoting something for a long period of time and you see their advertising everywhere, then it is for a reason. It's working. If you model what you are promoting after what they are doing, you will also be successful.
You need to understand your prospects, then look for what they are already buying and find a way to promote those products to them in a way that makes you money.
Model what is working, but add your own ideas to make it unique.
I recommend that you read an article that explains more in detail what I mean by "modeling what is working".
